Recently becoming all the rage in the pop-culinary scene, adult milkshakes were made popular by the BLT Burger restaurant in New York when it opened four years ago, according to The New York Times . It was called the "milkshake program" and continues to be a staple at the restaurant.

Although hot summer days are becoming a distant memory, there's always a good reason to indulge in the delectable delight of a milkshake. So if you're looking to coat your throat in all of the satisfaction a milkshake has to offer ’ with that added bonus ’ try some of these locations and or concoctions:

Joe's Amazing Burgers in McLean, Va offers customers four options, but their most popular is the Bourbon Caramel, made with Gifford's vanilla bean ice cream and homemade sea salt caramel sauce, followed by two shots of Jack Daniel's, Espress Night Out described.

And if you happen to be driving through Kansas, stop at BRGR Kitchen + Bar in Prairie Village, where they offer a Guinness milkshake, according to The Pitch . It's a concoction of Guinness, milk, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream to top it off.

Makes 4 Frozen Mudslides
’ 4 oz vodka
’ 4 oz Kahlua
’ 4 oz Bailey's Irish Cream
’ 2 pints (32 oz) vanilla ice cream
’ Chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)
’ Whipped cream for garnish
’ Chocolate syrup for garnish

1. Blend all ingredients.
2. Garnish with some combination of chocolate shavings, whipped cream, and chocolate syrup.
3. Drink immediately.
