(MYFOX NATIONAL) - Sandra Bullock's husband, television celebrity and motorcycle mogul Jesse James, is involved in a custody battle with his ex-wife, porn star Janine Lindemulder, over custody of their daughter Sunny. Bullock and James have been raising the 5-year-old since January and Bullock is expected to back up James' claim that they would make a better home for the girl.
According to The Orange County Register James has asked a judge in Orange County that Lindemulder prove that she could provide a safe environment for the child. He also asked that she "be restrained from allowing (the girl) to be around pornographers, drug addicts, guns and firearms, felons and other unsafe environments," according to court documents.
This year Lindemulder had been in federal prison serving a term for tax evasion, she is now residing in a halfway house in Los Angeles. She pleaded guilty last year to intentionally failing to pay her income taxes.
The 40-year-old adult actress has appeared in dozens of adult films. She and James, 40, were married in 2002 in an episode of James' television series "Motorcycle Mania," after which she gave up her career, reported The Times of London. The couple divorced in 2004, when Lindemulder was eight months pregnant.
James and Bullock, 45, married in 2005. The Times of London reported that Bullock denies that the couple enjoys a Hollywood lifestyle saying, "we do every mundane, normal thing that everyone else does. It’s about enjoying what we have." Bullock has never had children of her own, citing with regret a mother who urged her to put her career first, reported The Telegraph.
The Times of London also reported that earlier this year the Lindemulder sent her former husband a text message from prison that read: “U win. Sandra finally has her baby - congratulations."
Other high-profile custody cases have included Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, Paul McCartney and Heather Mills, and Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards. Of course, Jon and Kate Gosselin, recently divorced, have shared custody of their children.
