(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - "Whip It" director Drew Barrymore grew up in Hollywood, but she's not letting fame sway her into visiting the plastic surgeon's office.
The 35-year-old actress-turned-filmmaker told the Daily Mail : "I'm so curious as to what's going to happen naturally that I can't imagine wanting to alter things just yet."
But Barrymore isn't just nixing the idea of herself turning to cosmetic surgery, she feels strongly about Botox in general.
"To all those women putting botulism in their faces – we don't know what the long-term effects are, so stop!" she said. "I'd rather look like a basset hound than do that to my face!"
She admits that Hollywood limits the number of roles for aging actresses, but says she will find something else to do with her life when she gets there.
Barrymore says she'll pick up a camera or try her hand at writing: "There are a million things to do in this world."
Oscar-winner Meryl Streep, 60, still seems to get a lot of work despite being opposed to Botox, reports The Orange Country Register .
"[Botox] limits you. If you do that, then you can't play so many different great parts, and also parts of your face don't move," says Streep.
On side with Barrymore and Streep is 34-year-old Kate Winslet, reports The Register: "I want to be able to really show the expressions on my face."
According to Celebrity Beauty Buzz , actresses who've admitted going the injectable fillers route, include "Ugly Betty" star Vanessa Williams, "90210" actresses Jennie Garth and Lori Loughlin.
Pro-Botox TV personality Jenny McCarthy revealed: "My tricks are I get Botox in my forehead – I just have my doctor do a little … there. If you overdo, it looks bad."
Meanwhile, actress Virginia Madsen, 48, is a celebrity spokeswoman for Botox, but warns women to go to a professional.
"Don't go to a Botox party that somebody invites you to because you don't know if it's safe — go to a doctor," she told Parade . "A sterile environment where someone's going to understand the anatomy of your face."
