Taylor Momsen: Next Celebrity Train Wreck?

(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - The world has seen young and rising stars self-destruct all too often. From Britney Spears to, most recently, Lindsay Lohan, Hollywood hasn't been a place to nurture good behavior.

Welcome "Gossip Girls" star Taylor Momsen to the mix. She's already giving the tabloids something to talk about and she's not even in her twenties yet. Momsen is a mere 16 years old.

Momsen isn't trying to gain the approval of anyone either. She and her band The Pretty Reckless in the video for their single off their debut album re-create the Last Supper. Momsen, dressed very provocatively, climbs across the table trying to get the attention of the "apostles."

When asked about her edgy fashion sense, Momsen told MTV's website Hollywood Crush , "I like a lot of leather, I like a lot of dresses, I guess it's been known to be provocative."

The website also reports that Momsen fired her stylist after she "had a freakout" that she was being molded into something she wasn't.

Perhaps the most recently shocking event has been the Twitter exchange between Momsen and blogger Perez Hilton.

The website Gawker reported that after excerpts from an interview with the magazine Disorder came out quoting Momsen as saying her best friend was a certain sex toy and she was "through with men," Hilton posted a headline on his blog about the interview misquoting what she said.

A fiery exchange on Twitter ensued, with Hilton, according to many, being inappropriate with his tweets back to the 16-year-old actress.

Pepper Schwartz, a professor of sociology at the University of Washington told ABC News , "It's not so different from other 16-year-olds in the sense that it's all about them. Of course, she lives in a dangerous environment and she has access to dangerous people and dangerous drugs."

Time will tell if she'll become the next Hollywood train wreck and tabloid favorite.
