She decided to start Lowrie's Facebook page "for a laugh" and, lo and behold, was star was born. Lowrie has about 4,000 fans. Which led Davidson to save Lowrie's bacon and adopt him.

Davidson said "she could never eat him now."

"He was bred for meat but I'm not going to turn him into bacon now," she added. " I'm worried I'd get death threats. We'll make an exception for once and keep him."

Now that Lowrie has gone from main course to main attraction, Davidson told The Telegraph, "If he hears the microwave he comes running because he knows he'll get fed and he nibbles on people's feet to get attention."
