Singer Inspired by Morgan Freeman's Wikipedia Page

(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - Every musician will find themselves in a musical rut at some point. When that happened to Alex Schaaf, also known as Yellow Ostrich, he turned to an unlikely source to give him inspiration ’ Morgan Freeman's Wikipedia page.

"A month ago, I was working in Maine and wanting to do something musical, but I felt creatively dry. I had hit a dry spot and thought about taking lyrics from something that already existed. I am a big fan of Morgan Freeman's, but it really was a random choice," Schaaf told AOL News .

The EP album was made in a day and a half and features songs like "Morgan Freeman's Early Life" and "Morgan Freeman's Selected Filmography."

All songs were created using direct information from the Wikipedia page, except the song, "Morgan Freeman's Alleged Relationship With His Step-Granddaughter." For this song, Schaaf did a Google search after hearing about it on the news.

In regards to making his music, Schaff told the French magazine site magicrpm.com (the English translation can be read on the Yellow Ostrich website) he prefers making an album with one concept as he did with the Morgan Freeman EP.

Past albums featured only Schaaf's vocals and a drum machine.

"I think, at least for me, that some sort of concept or limit is necessary in order to be as creative as possible," Schaaf told the magazine .

AOL News reported that the album is getting good reviews.

Schaaf hasn't heard anything from Morgan Freeman yet, and as for being worried about any repercussions from Wikipedia, Schaff isn't concerned because the site is a public shared information source.

He would be excited if the album was featured on Wikipedia, telling AOL News , "’ if this album gets listed on Freeman's Wikipedia page, that would be really cool."

The album can be downloaded for free here .
